Our Shashani Lodge’s thatch and stone chalets melt into the wilderness in the heart of the Matobo Hills. Set on top of a massive granite rock, the privacy each lodge offers and the solitude of the area pervade your senses.
Each chalet is stylishly decorated yet humble, whilst still maintaining the authenticity of the surrounding bush, and is strategically positioned to maximise privacy and provide stunning views.
Each room has its own private view of the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Matobo Hills, from your private balcony. The view from the chalets showcases a perfect example of the huge granite dwalas that the Matopos are famous for.
Simply put your feet up, sip on a cocktail, look out over the giant granite domes, and take in the quietness of the wilderness.

Main Lodge

Our main lodge exudes a welcoming warmth, a charming blend of rustic bush elegance and homely comfort.
A whispering breeze from over the hills, carrying the fragrant scent of the wild, weaves through the open dining area
and bar adding a touch of hospitality to this wild retreat we call home.
Restaurant
Our restaurant is situated at the main lodge and has a safari ambience that creates a relaxed and comfortable aura.
You can take in the African bush vista in the distance while enjoying your home-cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Lunch and dinner are all-inclusive, as well as complimentary tea and coffee, which are available all day.
Bar
The bar is found in the open-plan main lodge, encompassing the lounge and dining area that overlooks
the pool, viewing platform, and the African bushveld beyond.
Available are local and some imported brands of beer and spirits.
Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is perfectly placed to afford you a breathtaking view of the panoramic African bush.
Fire Pit
At Shashani we have a nightly bonfire at the main lodge. This allows guests to sit outside and enjoy the evening sunsets and take in the night sounds while sitting around a warm fire having a refreshing drink.
We also provide BBQ facilities for your convenience.
